The Band

While aspiration and passion for music begun in youth had brought these musicians together on varied occasions and in different constellations over the last 15 years, it was the compressed confines of corona that concretized this project’s beginnings into the Erpelistics. First emerging as a trio (Bass, Guitar, & Percussion), their roving interests traveled through a variety of genres, waddling their way along the well-tread tracks of rock, yet pausing here and there to mingle with dissonant colorations from out of jazz and psychedelic funk as well as the more jagged and craggy contours of punk and post-punk. It was the addition of vocals in 2023 that allowed their music to depart unto pop and poetry. From pain to politics, their songs span a spectrum of topics: the vicissitudes of affection’s confrontation with separation and structure, the travails of waiting in suspense for understanding, the struggle to raise indignation in the face of modern impuissance while resisting ignorance.

As their collaboration over the last two years has already revealed their own brand of rock-funk, they continue forward together, each song an iteration of their still evolving, confluent cloud of resonance.

With the release of their debut EP Kulturelle Zwischennutzung in June 2025, part of this repertoire can finally be heard in fine studio quality — a milestone for the four musicians, who have long since been working on new projects and continuing their journey together: with a sound of their own, a silly band name, and more songs than Instagram posts.
